SISTERS: A SPECIAL FRIEND

Dear Jesus, I want a sister, please,

A girl prayed every day,

Her friends had sisters and she saw that special bond between them,

And she craved for that sweet and sour relationship,

After some time, her mother told her she might get a sister or a brother,

Her prayers became more fervent and ardent,

Please God, please give me a sister,

After waiting patiently for nine months, finally she got what she always wanted,

Her huge smile was the proof, when she peered over the babe lying peacefully beside her mother,

Her eyes danced with happiness when she saw the chubby, cute babe,

Lying peacefully beside her mother,

A mixture of emotions whirled inside her,

Anxieties, excitement, fear, and curiosity was taking turns in her.

She took the babe in her arms with papa’s help

And the dormant maternal instinct came alive in that five-year-old girl,

She made a silent promise to that babe and herself

That she will always love and protect her

A sense of duty entered her heart and it will never leave her,

She was always there at the beck and call of their mother for the babe,

She cared and cherished her

Because that babe completed her, her family,

That babe was the answer to her prayers,

Her most precious and priceless gift,

The one she will cherish for life……….

The girl in this poem is me. Sisters, a sweet and sour relationship is the one of the most loved and cherished relationships. There is so much depth in it. I will say, the bond shared by two sisters is stronger than the bond shared by two brothers (Boys, please don’t feel bad, this is completely my opinion, you can choose to differ J )Yes, there are huge fights. Yes, we sisters beat and scratch each other. Yes, we tease each other. Yes, we abuse and call each other names but at the end of the day, we are always ready to get the back of each other. The elder one will always protect the younger one and trust me, she will turn into a mama bear, if she sees her younger sister being in problem. I can say this because I, myself is a elder sister so I can understand all the elder sisters out there. this bond is very special, never ever allow it get broken…………….
